Lowell Light & Power

Project consisted of the construction of 1.5 miles of double circuit three-phase overhead distribution line for voltage conversion to 12.5kV and shifting load to a new substation.

Hendrix aerial spacer cable was utilized to minimize impact on adjacent landowners and maintain compact construction. Easements were acquired where necessary and tree clearing was completed along the new centerline. An optical messenger was utilized for one of the aerial spacer circuits, which is a unique application for Hendrix spacer cable in the USA. The optical messenger will be used for substation monitoring and control.
