Traverse City Light & Power

Project consisted of the construction of 1.75 miles of double circuit and 2.0 miles of single circuit 69kV transmission line.

This project was completed to provide a second reliable transmission source into the rapidly growing Traverse City, Michigan area. The transmission line was constructed with traditional round wood poles, laminated wood poles, and self-supporting steel poles. An optical ground wire was included for utility communications, relaying, and SCADA control. The project was completed as part of a critical system upgrade including a new switching station and distribution substation upgrades.
