Several distribution conversion to underground projects were completed to replace aged overhead distribution lines, increase circuit capacity and reliability, and to increase the circuit voltage 12.5kV.

All building services in the conversion areas were converted to underground and increased to 200A.  An express 12.5kV circuit to NMH and the Burns Medical Professional Building was constructed through the voltage conversion of an existing overhead Hendrix aerial spacer circuit plus a new dedicated underground cable run.  The cable was tied through a padmount automatic transfer switch providing increased reliability to these critical loads.

Engineering services included:

  • Project planning & cost estimating
  • Underground system design
  • Street lighting design
  • Material procurement
  • Construction staking
  • Construction observation & inspection
  • Switching & outage coordination
  • Record drawings
